INCONEL nikkel - chroom legering 625 (UNS N06625/W.Nr. 2.4856) wordt gebruikt voor de hoge sterkte, uitstekende maakbaarheid (inclusief toetreden) en uitstekende corrosieweerstand. Service temperaturen variëren van cryogene tot 1800° F (982° C).
Kracht van INCONEL legering 625 is afgeleid van het effect van de verstijving van molybdeen en niobium op haar nikkel-chroom-matrix; neerslag uithardend behandelingen zijn dus niet vereist. Deze combinatie van elementen is ook verantwoordelijk voor superieure weerstand tegen een breed scala van corrosieve omgevingen van ongebruikelijke ernst alsook over hoge-temperatuur-effecten zoals oxidatie en carburization.
