PVA (polyvinylalcohol) hars:
Polyvinylalcohol PVA wordt gebruikt in verschillende medische toepassingen vanwege de biocompatibiliteit, lage neiging tot eiwitadhesie en lage toxiciteit. Specifiek gebruik omvat kraakbeenvervangingen, contactlenzen en oogdruppels. Polyvinylalcohol wordt gebruikt als hulpmiddel bij suspensiepolymerisaties. Polyvinylalcohol PVA grootste toepassing in China is het gebruik ervan als beschermende colloïde om PVAC -dispersies te maken. In Japan is het grootste gebruik de productie van vinylonvezel. Deze vezel wordt ook in Noord-Korea vervaardigd om zelfvoorzienende redenen, omdat er geen olie nodig is om dit te produceren. Een andere applicatie is fotografische film.
